Lets face it. Jay Leno was never really was a suitable replacement for Johnny Carson. To this day I wonder why wasn't it David Letterman...and he(Letterman) probably does too. Jay Leno was hilarious BEFORE he did the tonight show (yes , sadly I'm old enough to remember). He's a fantastic standup, so I'm thinking it's the camera's that made him so obviously uncomfortable. Having said this, he did a great job at keeping the show relevant, honouring it's roots and keeping it's audience...well most of it. He leaves us with a sense of being a nice, classy, modest guy doesn't he?. Hey...you can't all be Carson! We'll miss ya Jay....but not for long...he has a NEW comedy 1 hour show...starting in September at 10pm on NBC.
